Every image has a level of readability to it. My work explores the balancing act of giving and withholding visual information through various types of distortions, emphasizing the idea of communication being lost in translation. These distortions confuse the visual hierarchy we have become accustomed to, allowing simple subjects to take on complex suggestions. The subtleties in my images are meant to engage and activate the viewer in hopes of elevating perceptive experience and awareness of the world around us.
